Okay, if you have the time and are a bit techy, you may want to build your own business website…
These are the best tools we’ve come across to build a business website – some are free and some you have to pay for. I would recommend bookmarking this page for future reference. Every important tool we’ve come across and used regularly to develop a successful business is listed below.
Tools for Building your Business Website
For hosting your website, buying your domain name (such as www.yourgreatbusiness.com), and installing WordPress we recommend Hostinger – good pricing, reliable and great customer service.
For building your own website – we would recommend using WordPress which was essentially set up as a ‘blogging’ tool but is great for building websites without the need to understand programming. The easiest way to start with WordPress is to one-click install it from your web host’s website ( such as Hostinger above).
Free photos and images – If you use images on your website that you have found on the internet, ensure you are using those that are licensed as “creative commons” photos/images and make sure you attribute the photo/image to the original author by linking back to their website (this is for legal purposes, so do ensure you check the usage conditions before using them). You can usually find photos you might need on websites such as Flickr or Wikipedia.
Quality photos/images – If you need royalty-free high quality photos (or illustrations, videos, or flash), you can find just about anything you need at iStockphoto – great quality for at good prices.
Logo design etc. – If design is not your strong point, the website Fiverr may be able to help. At Fiverr, you can hire people to do a whole host of things for you such as logo designs etc. all from $5. Check it out.
